The bodyguards of this target nearly kill her in a struggle in the men's restroom. She lets Oburi live and goes to take out her next target. Realizing that Sawa has the drop on him, Oburi tells her that Akai and Kanie were the ones who murdered her parents, but Sawa reveals that she has known that for years. Oburi is leaving Akai and Kanie's service after killing three more targets, but Akai orders Sawa to kill Oburi instead of letting him go. Due to their relationship, Sawa slowly gains the emotional strength to escape from her guardians to set out on her own. Sawa's assassinations are famous among the police for her use of special bullets that explode inside the body after piercing the skin.Įventually, Sawa meets a fellow assassin named Oburi, who is of a similar age, and a bond quickly forms between them. Subsequently, over the years, she kills whomever she is ordered to, including corrupt police officers and corporate fat cats. Sawa is an assassin, who the corrupt detectives make kill an alleged rapist of young girls. Akai also gave her a pair of crystal earrings, each one allegedly containing the blood of one of her parents. Akai has had a sexual relationship with Sawa for the duration of his guardianship. The detectives investigating the crime, Akai and Kanie, are her guardians. Sawa kills him, and the old lady dies of a heart attack sometime later, after feeling around for her glasses in the bloody aftermath. When the film opens, Sawa is on a date with a celebrity, but he begins yelling at an old lady, who had rebuked him for promiscuous ways, being on a date with such a young girl. Her parents are the victims of a gory double murder.

The Men in Black: Near the end of the OVA, Defy Foods has agents clad in black suits and shades in (at least) one car with diplomatic license plates in order to capture and/kill the bone armored monster that survived the space shuttle crash.Kite revolves around a schoolgirl named Sawa who is orphaned in her early teens. Driving Question: Why was Monaka doing vigilante work? How was she recruited? Also how did the Red Club came into the possession of Monaka?. Diplomatic Impunity: The sedans used by DF agents were seen with blue diplomatic license plates, likely in an effort to make sure law enforcement doesn't impede their operations. 
Continuity Nod: Monaka acquires the Red Club, Sawa's old sidearm in Kite. Can't Bathe Without a Weapon: One poster for Liberator shows Monaka taking a bath with two guns in the water and a clip laying on the rim of the bathtub. 
Boom, Headshot!: Monaka takes out the two DF agents and Doi after they find out that Monaka's father is the other bone armored monster inside the car with diplomatic plates. What Liberator doesn't feature is gratuitous rape and sex scenes. Additionally, the sequel features a cameo by Sawa, now all grown up, Older and Wiser waitress colleague of Monaka (and a single mother). wrong with links to a company called Defy Foods. There are two primary storylines: one about the older brother of one of Monaka's past targets seeking revenge, and the other about Monaka's astronaut father coming home from space doing work with the ISS. It follows a new young female assassin named Monaka Noguchi, who poses as a waitress in a maid cafe and kills criminals as "The Angel of Death" by night (said cafe also serves as the Front Organization). The OVA was when Xanthe Huynh debuted as a voice actor after winning the AX Idol contest in 2007. It was released in English by Media Blasters. KL was released in Japan on Maon DVD and on Novemin Blu-Ray. It takes place ten years after the events of Kite. Kite Liberator is a 2008 Original Video Animation written and directed by Yasuomi Umetsu.
